Use Cases

Six ways event pros use QR codes

From multi-day conferences to intimate workshops, dynamic QR codes adapt to your event timeline — not the other way around.

Event tickets & registration

Print QR codes on tickets, wristbands, or badges. Update check-in links, add waitlist forms, or redirect to virtual rooms — all without reprinting.

Dynamic event schedules

Schedule changes? Link your QR to a live Google Sheet or Notion page. Attendees scan once; you update the schedule as many times as needed.

Networking & contact sharing

Add QR codes to name badges for instant vCard downloads. Speakers share slides, sponsors share product demos — all via one scannable code.

Session feedback & surveys

Print feedback QR codes on session materials or screen slides. Swap in different survey links per track, or redirect to post-event follow-ups.

Smart time-based redirects

Show pre-event info before the date, live streaming links during, and recordings after. One QR code, three destinations — no manual switching.

Sponsor activation & lead capture

Sponsors add branded QR codes to booth banners. Track scans by location, swap promo links mid-event, or redirect to exclusive content for VIPs.

Event Playbook

Five steps from design to scan

1

Design your event QR code

Upload your event logo or brand colors. QRBliss auto-extracts palette and styling — your QR is on-brand in <2s. Choose static (fixed URL) or dynamic (changeable destination).

2

Download & print on event materials

Export high-res PNG (up to 4000×4000px) or vector SVG for professional printers. Add to tickets, badges, posters, slide decks — anywhere attendees need instant access.

3

Track scans & attendee engagement

Dynamic codes log every scan: timestamp, device type, and location (country + city). See which sessions drive engagement, which posters get ignored.

4

Update destinations without reprinting

Event moved to Zoom? Swap the registration link to a virtual room. Speaker canceled? Redirect to the updated schedule. Changes go live in <60s.

5

Set time-based rules (optional)

Show pre-event RSVP forms before the date, live streaming links during the event, and post-event surveys after. One QR, three phases — zero manual work.

Common Pitfalls

Four mistakes event organizers make with QR codes

Printing tiny QR codes on badges (0.5×0.5")

Use 1×1" minimum — smaller codes fail under low light or from >1 foot away

Using static QR codes for multi-day conferences

Dynamic codes let you fix broken links or update schedules mid-event

Low-contrast QR on colored backgrounds

Maintain 3:1 contrast ratio minimum (QRBliss auto-checks scannability)

No test scan before sending to print

Print one test badge, scan from 3 feet in normal lighting — catch issues early

FAQ

Event QR code questions

Can I update my event QR code after printing tickets?
Yes — that's the whole point of dynamic QR codes. Print your badges, posters, or tickets with a fixed QR image; then change the destination URL as many times as you want via the QRBliss dashboard. Changes go live in <60s. Static QR codes (free, no signup) can't be updated after creation.
How many event QR codes can I create for free?
Unlimited static codes (non-editable after creation), or 15 active dynamic codes on the Free plan. Most single-day events fit comfortably in 15 codes (tickets, schedule, feedback, WiFi, sponsor booth links). Multi-day conferences or festivals typically upgrade to Pro (100 codes) or Business (unlimited).
What size should my QR code be for a name badge?
1×1 inch minimum for badges scanned from <2 feet. Export at 600 DPI (600×600px) or use SVG for vector crispness. Smaller codes (<0.75") fail in low conference lighting or when attendees scan from arm's length. See the print specs section above for poster and banner sizing.
Can I track which sessions or booths get the most scans?
Yes. Every dynamic QR logs scan timestamp, device type, and location (country + city). Create separate codes for each session or sponsor booth to compare engagement. All analytics respect privacy — we never store raw IPs, only derived aggregates.
Do QR codes work if the event WiFi is slow or offline?
QR codes themselves are offline — the image contains the full destination URL, so scanning works without internet. But the phone needs connectivity to load the destination page. For offline events, consider linking to a lightweight HTML page or PDF that loads fast on slow networks.
Can I show different links before, during, and after the event?
Yes — dynamic codes support time-based redirect rules. Show a registration form before June 15, live stream during June 15–17, and post-event survey after June 17. Configure via the 'Smart Redirects' panel in the My QRs dashboard. One QR, three phases, zero manual switching.
